The provisions introduced in the amended education law allowing individuals to attain market qualifications included in the IQS opens new opportunities for connecting education with the labour market. Therefore, the main topic of the second discussion meeting on “Market Qualifications and Sectoral Education” will focus on better integrating the different paths of attaining qualifications with current labour market needs. Participants will discuss, among others, the current state and perspectives of the lifelong learning policy in Poland, strengthening the role of market qualifications in the sectoral education system, the first IQS certificates for VET school students, and cooperation of the Educational Research Institute with such schools.
The Public Debate on the Integrated Qualifications System
10 meetings will be held in 2019-2020 throughout Poland as part of the public debate entitled “The Integrated Qualifications System – A Bridge between Education and the Labour Market”. These meetings are an opportunity to reflect on the public actions planned in the coming years for the development and implementation of the IQS. The planned summary of the debate is scheduled for the first quarter of 2020 and will be held during a conference closing the cycle of meetings. Jointly worked out conclusions and recommendations developed jointly with debate participants will be the starting point for the further development of public policies for lifelong learning.
The next public debate meeting will be held on October 22 at the Conference Centre Ogrodowa 58 in Warsaw. Links to the meeting programme and registration are provided below.
